Time to Dream Again: Overcoming Life's Hurdles Through Faith

Life is an intriguing voyage. It's a journey of triumphs and trials, progress and pitfalls, serenity and storm. As the sails of time unfurl, there's no doubt that the last few years have brought forth a bounty of grief and weariness for many of us.

Amongst us are those who have ventured into unknown territories, only to discover their painstaking efforts did not bear the fruits they had anticipated. The sting of failure has deterred them from nurturing new ideas. Others, on the other hand, are paralyzed by the fear of stepping out of their comfort zones, their minds cluttered with a plethora of reasons to remain immobile.

As an entrepreneur for many years, I've faced my share of these tumultuous times. The bitter taste of failure was often too palpable when projects I had been certain of fell flat on their face. In these moments of despair, I found myself staring at my reflection, acknowledging yet another defeat. With bills to pay and no income, these circumstances threatened to break my spirit.

Yet, in every one of those intersections of life, God met me. The seeds of perseverance I had sowed remained fruitful. My obedience was still yielding, a reminder that every cloud has a silver lining. But amidst this gratitude, the flavor of disappointment lingered. A decade of relentless effort as an entrepreneur seemed to have brought me no further than where I began.

My journey had been a series of speaking engagements, coaching, brand development and creative strategy helping countless individuals along the way. But the exhaustion was overwhelming. It cast a shadow over my creativity, my ability to inspire, even though I was someone who persistently encouraged and poured out my heart to others.

However, the winds are shifting. An awakening is upon us, a refreshing breeze is touching our lives. I have come to understand that prophetically my experiences often mirror those of the collective body of believers. If I'm feeling like this, I know many are too. But even amidst these trials, God, our rescuer, is reaching out to lift us up.

He whispers to us, "Dream again." Despite the frustration, the pain, the disappointment you've encountered, remember that His promises for you remain unshaken. His assurance to us is still, 'yes and amen'. It's time to rekindle the dreams you set aside. What are you putting your faith in? He asks us, echoing the challenges faced by Abraham, Joseph, Mary, Nehemiah. It's time to dream again.

In these moments of doubt and despair, let's anchor ourselves in His word. Let's remember that our dreams are not dead, and that God wants to breathe life into every dormant area of our existence:

  • Jeremiah 29:11 – "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

  • Ephesians 2:9 – "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

  • 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 – "However, as it is written: 'What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived' — the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God."

  • Matthew 19:13-14 – "Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them
